JON D. PETERS, M.D.
Dr. Peters has practiced Neurology in Northern Virginia since 1986. A native Washingtonian, he graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Maryland, College Park in 1974 and went on to Georgetown University School of Medicine where he received his MD in 1980. After training in Internal Medicine at Brown University, Providence Rhode Island, Dr. Peters served the United States as a Senior Assistant Surgeon in the United States Public Health Service. His duty stations included assignments in the Indian Health Service, Gallup, New Mexico and in Jefferson County West Virginia. Dr. Peters returned to Georgetown University in 1983 to complete a Residency in Neurology. He started practice in 1986 and since then, as an adult neurologist, has served the people of Northern Virginia and the Greater Washington Metropolitan Area. Dr. Peters is a Board Certified Neurologist.

Dr. Peters founded Neuroscience Consultants, PLC in 1998. His interests in Neurology are wide ranging. Special interests include Traumatic Brain Injury/Concussion, Headache Disorders, Multiple Sclerosis, Epilepsy, Parkinson’s Disease, ADHD, Dementia, Spinal Problems, Stroke, Brain Tumors EMG/NCV and Neurovascular Medicine and Disorders of Balance and Equilibrium.

Dr. Peters is honored to care for many of our veterans with neurological problems. Professional athletes from the NFL, NHL, PGA, MLS and MLB as well as numerous amateur and student athletes consult Dr. Peters.
Concerned about the growing epidemic of TBI, Dr. Peters is a prior Member of The Board of Directors, Brain Injury Services. Dr. Peters Forensic Neurologic opinions have been requested, nationally. Dr. Peters is regularly recognized as a “Top Doctor” in Washingtonian Magazine and other local publications.

Dr. Peters provides insightful, compassionate and timely Neurological care. An independent Neurologist, not employed by a large hospital, group or clinic, he is able to advocate for his patients and help to insure they receive the best medical care.
